Don Pagach, Director of Research for the ERM Initiative at NC State University interviews Rick Moyer, Chief Risk Officer at Stanford University. Rick describes his role of the Chief Risk Officer and how it not only encompasses the University, but also the Stanford Health System and its many endowments. In overseeing a number of significant risk management areas Rick examines the advantages and synergies he sees in having these areas all under the same leadership. Risk also describes the process his office takes in conducting its “Integrated Review” in order to understand risk insights from the various functions and obtain an enterprise view of risks for the senior leadership team. He also provides insights on to help others better integrate ERM, compliance and internal audit.
