New Resources: ERM Tools & Techniques

The business paradigm surrounding enterprise risk management (ERM) is relatively new compared to other business disciplines that have been around for decades.  Effective practices and techniques continue to evolve with the goal of enhancing the value of risk management for strategic decision making.  Practices surrounding ERM continue to advance.

Evolution of ERM Practices Continues

Boards, C-suite executives and ERM leaders are finding new approaches to understanding and managing risks in the context of the organization’s business model and strategic objectives. Most leaders are interested in sharing ideas, processes, and tools that others have found helpful in their ERM journey. Academic research is also playing an important role in helping frame approaches to risk management that add strategic value for the organization’s leaders. That research provides empirical and theoretical insights about what works well and what doesn’t.

The 2nd edition of Enterprise Risk Management:  Today’s Leading Research and Best Practices for Tomorrow’s Executives compiles a large volume of insights from both academia and practice into one comprehensive resource. Edited by John Fraser, Rob Quail and Betty Simkins, this updated book provides insights into what practitioners are doing, tools and techniques they are using, and those insights are organized along 43 chapters.
