The Value Proposition for ERM: From Intangible to Tangible
This case study, The Value Proposition for ERM: From Intangible to Tangible, provides great examples of ways that ERM has added value at six different companies. Graduate students in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University prepared this study, which examines companies ranging in size from small cap to large cap, and covering various industries including healthcare, consumer cyclicals, energy, utilities and financial services. Examples of how ERM has added value detailed in the study range from specific risks that were only brought to light through the ERM process, to improved risk awareness, to risk-based capital allocation decisions. The study also provides details on the overall ERM process at each of the participating companies to add context to the way that ERM has added value in these organizations.
